Hey you! Welcome to the first #BloggingMonday in 2015.
I assume everyone has had a big year round up last week and today is the first Monday. Writing from GMT +7 I am actually a bit behind schedule but nevermind, as long as it is still Monday on the other part of the world.
In December (last year) this series kicked in with a little bit this and that but starting today onwards I am going to try to be more structured and in sequence so that newbies can easily follow. This, brings us to the topic about reasons why you should not blog.
When you go around the web you will find tons of reasons why you should blog, and many..many people have fallen into them and decided to start one. And stop. Not a pause but just stop. A simple pull stop that gives a strong proof that blogging is indeed a waste of time.
So now I am pointing a finger at you. Are you ready for this journey? Are you ready to make your blogging activities meaningful and not a waste of time? Let see whether you have all the followings that tell you blogging isn’t your thing:
1. Unwilling to write.
Personally I believe that writing skill is not just a gifted talent. The skill is earned too with practice and practice and learn. However the power of will changes everything. If you don’t have that willingness to write then you should not blog. Sure, there are also photoblogs but the narration to every pictures will make them more interesting to see.
2. Internet skeptic.
I always warn my friends, and now you, that you should not believe everything you read on the internet. That means, rather than suck it up raw you need to activate your filter and do double checks. Being skeptic means you just don’t have any faith on the internet and it is a problem because blogging is strongly related to the internet.
3. No time.
Some people blog to keep a diary of their life and share it with the world, some people want to have some extra money to keep the blog going and some people turn their blog into money making machine. Regardless your blogging intention, the activity should add value to your life. But if one day you start a blog and only update it once a year, it’s better that you don’t start it at all. Especially when updating your blog is felt more like an obligation rather than something exciting.
4. Not a reader.
Blogging takes reading others’ blog too. It’s a network that comes automatically with the tag. In my experience bloggers are normally avid readers. I think the reading experience widen our perspective and helps a lot in our writings.
5. Social media haters.
I know people who love to stay away from social media. The thing is a blog should always connect with social medias be it facebook, twitter, pinterest, instagram and more. The power of sharing within social media circle can help your blog take off and add more readers too. You don’t want to write a blog that sits lonely in a corner with no readers, do you?
Check all the five and tell me that you have none of them in your blogging blood. When confirmed, I happily say welcome to the blogging world!
