31st December 2013, it was pouring on and off in the morning and again in the afternoon. We ended up just staying inside, I was making my Happy New Year banner while the kids were playing.
In the evening we went to Angsana to see how’s the New Year’s Eve party like there. Dressing in peach I was totally ready to welcome 2014.
It was full occupancy in the hotel and although the buffet setup and decoration were so tempting unfortunately we had to wait for the second seating because we didn’t have a table reservation. Instead of wasting our time waiting we walked down to the pool side where the countdown party would happen.
Partying by the pool did sound awesome. All the coconut trees were decorated with series of lights. The night felt glam and party mood was in the air. I would like to stay around but the boys were hungry. Hence we headed to Banyan Tree where we finally set for New Year’s Eve Dinner.
For a 4-course set menu costed USD 103 per person I must say it wasn’t up to my taste. The clear consomme was plain, the lamb rack was a bit tough to cut (however this might be caused by the knife as they didn’t give us that usual sharp steak knife) but the Duck Liver was excellent. I never thought I would love to eat that thing! Despite all that I think for those who were into peaceful, classy and elegant New Year’s Eve Dinner, Banyan Tree was surely the right place to go.
As table appointment was New Year’s Party popper set. K and little A were so happy they started blowing out the trumpet despite the countdown was still few hours away.
You can say that our New Year’s Eve was boring. I wasn’t interested to go back to Angsana to join the countdown party. The entertainment was only live DJ performance and I kind of feel that with two kids hang around staying up all night for a DJ wasn’t good enough.
So we ended up doing the number 5 from my list of 5 Awesome Ideas to Celebrate the New Year.
How did you spend yours? What did you do to celebrate the countdown?
