Kitchen knives are among few essential kitchenware that one must have at home. Without a knife a household probably can not run as it should be. I mean, how can you cut and slice your vegetables and fruits?
Amongst the chefs, kitchen knives are considered to be their most precious tool. I remember one day a friend of mine who is a chef blasted us all for using his small knife to cute some paper. He makes it very clear that kitchen knives should only be used to food or edible item.
Maybe we don’t want to go overboard with our kitchen knives and end up with only one or at least two all-purpose kitchen knives, that is totally fine. But we have to make sure that we take a good care of our knives so that they can live as long as we do!
Caring for your all-purpose kitchen knives is not a rocket science. First of all, always wash after use and dry the knife properly. When storing a knife make sure it is placed back into its original knife stand. If you don’t have a knife stand you can place the knife in your cutleries drawer but it has to be wrapped and separated from the rest of cutleries. Last but not the least, never ever put your all-purpose kitchen knives in the dishwashing machine!
