Like they say, February is the month of love and having a super non-romantic husband definitely can’t take me away from celebrating ha ha. This weekend I was busy crafting. If things go smoothly (I mean if I don’t get any distraction from my other works) I probably will be able to finish making a dozen of these handmade Valentine Cards and sell them at K’s school.
One thing that we should all remember when giving a gift to someone we love the more personalized it is the better. It shows how much you really care. So if you can’t make the gift at least handmade the card. So today I am going to share to you my handmade Valentine card the easy way.
What you need to have:
Card paper, double tape, ruler, pencil, scissor (and you can see a tip of my toe there..eww gross!)
not in the pic: small paper puncher flower shaped, ribbons, computer/laptop, illustration software, printer
Making your own designer paper
Sometimes designer papers can be too expensive or offered in big bulk. When we only need so much why we want to buy a lot? So better way is to make your own. Create new document on your illustrator and start creating new design. Mine as you can see are XO, pink hearts and red dot patterns. I printed them on white card paper.
(If you are not familiar with illustrator, this link could help you through)
Or you can just find the free images that are flying around the internet and use Photoshop to create your own designer paper
Decide you base
I am using pink and white card as my Valentine card base. This is where I am going to write my love message
Decorate
On your designer paper draw a shape, because it’s Valentine I am drawing a heart shape and cut it with scissor.
Using the double tape I attach the shape on intended areas on the card. This is also the same thing to do when you want to attach the ribbon.
Well, I hope you like my handmade Valentine Card. Experiment and show me what you got!

I do like these, they came out great! We’re done w/ours for the year (they’ve got the names on them and are ready to go), but this would be nice for any time that calls for a pretty card!
