An Exhausting Pie with a Sprinkle of Sleep Deprivation

Do you know what I need these days? A one month-long holiday. A romantic getaway in a remote island where all I do is relaxing the whole day without having to raise any voice to try to keep the boys civilized. Well, of course that won’t happen any sooner. It is just the beginning of the second month and our house is not fully ready.

Boxes are still lying around and our clothes are still inside those giant suitcases because we haven’t bought any drawer or cupboard for them. The only furnitures we have now are the dining table set and a sofa-bed in front of our tv. Not many but for a family who pretty much mobile that is already enough.

Meanwhile K’s attitude towards school is getting better. At least he doesn’t throw his body on the floor anymore. He is still upset every morning whenever he has to enter the classroom without me but it has been less struggle and almost no tantrum. My only problem is because our house is quite far and we only have one car so we always have to start the day very early. We drive my husband first to his office and then off to K’s school. Every evening we again drive to my husband’s office to pick him up.

So it is indeed exhausting. Although I enjoy my new routines, still the lack of sleep has made me crankier. It will be getting worst towards the weekend but on Saturday I slow my gear down to relax.

That is why in between the house settling, the driving and keeping the boys busy I hardly find the good mood to write. But I think that ‘storm’ will pass soon and hopefully by this week I can swing back to my virtual world and squeeze it as another routine.

Oh btw, it’s one of K’s friend’s birthday tomorrow. We went to the store this evening to find a gift. Normally I would do the jazzy up for the gift wrap but because I was so exhausted I just picked a simple (yet cute) gift bag and put the gift in it. Added with a small teddy bear card and I gave my personal touch at the card clip (if you have been following CuteCoconut, you would notice the butterfly clip).

So what’s your favorite style when it comes to a gift? Are you the practical ones or the creative ones?
