Red Lobster Doha

Finally it opens! After months of wondering what’s with that building, lobster images were displayed in front but it looked quiet like no body was there, at last 7th June 2012 Red Lobster opens in Doha. We didn’t go there on the first night because, well I got the news very..verryyyy late. But yesterday we went there at around 2 p.m. and we could only get our table at around 2.30 p.m.

As we entered the parking lot we knew it would be jam packed. There wasn’t any vacant parking space in front of the restaurant so we had to park in front of the building next to it. And when we got in, people were standing in the reception area waiting for their table. Whoaa! I thought of giving up for a moment but then hey, we didn’t have anything to do anyway so my husband and I decided to give a chance and waited.

A big aquarium was placed in the center of the entrance to the main room. Bigs lobsters were swimming relaxing without any guess that their life would end soon. My boys were so happy and occupied by that view.

The name of our wait staff who served our table was Elvis. A nice young man with great posture, great english and impeccable gesture. He was very attentive and prompt.

A basket of Cheddar Bay Biscuit was served while we were waiting for our main course. Well we didn’t order full course because we were afraid that the portion would be too much to handle (and we were right!). We had Lobster Nachos, a crispy tortilla chips topped with Langostino lobster meat, creamy Cheddar and Monterey Jack Cheese. I really love the fact that the jalapeno peppers which were sprinkled on top of the dish were totally spicy. Two scoops of sour cream complete the look and the taste.

Our main course was only one portion of wood grilled lobster, shrimp and scallops served with buttery garlic finish over wild rice pilaf. I wasn’t crazy about the seafood though, they are just bland. However the rice was excellent. Love it.

When we got our bill, we were invited to input our feedback in www.redlobstersurvey-me.com afterwhich we are eligible for a QR 50 off for our next visit. The offer expires on 30th of June 2012. I don’t know whether we would be able to use it since we are going on vacation. If we don’t, I may put it as a giveaway for you who lives in Doha :)

What’s your favorite seafood?
