Cake Decorating Class 2: My Blue Fish

Cake Decorating Class 2: My Blue Fish
April 24, 2012 CuteCoco

Last Sunday was my second class of Cake Decorating. It was basically on hand how to decorate a cake based on our previous lesson. We got homework to do practice and to make the icing mix for decorating and covering the cake.

I called my first trial, the white cake. It was white all over because I couldn’t get the coloring from the shop. The covering was very ugly, you could still see the cake. But I think it was okay considering this was the first time I baked my own cake and decorated it on my own.

In class we did another covering and decorating. Although I got it wrong on the stiffness scale of the icing. It was supposed to be medium stiffness for the decoration and stiff for the covering, I made it the vice versa. But it turned out quite okay, at least for me as the super amateur.

Somehow this fish looks like a chicken..don't you think??

My friends said this fish looks like just being hit by a truck...

Does my creation look scary? hahaha… I know..

I think cake decorating is super hard so you did a great job for your second try! Mine always look pretty bad, so I stick with the store bought cakes lol. Can’t wait to see the rest of your creations!
